This week’s guest is Andre Novoa of Games Omnivourous. We talk about Hex Omnivourous, (Undying Sands, Bottled Sea and The Hexcrawl Toolbox), Mausritter by Isaac Williams, Manifestus Omnivorous, Frontier Scum, Death Robot Jungle LP, Putrescence Regnant (MÖRK BORG LP) and playing music in general.
This sandy beach has a deep pool of water in the center with The Locktopus partially submerged. Pleasant waves lap against the shore as a calming, gentle breeze blows across the blue and white Portuguese tiled walls.
The Locktopus is the benevolent animated skeletal remains of a dire octopus. It has eight bone tentacles that each end in a key numbered one through eight. This is an avatar of the octopus god Godtopus.
The Locktopus tells you about The Octobox, a beautifully ornate box with matching Portuguese tilework and a single keyhole, that’s submerged 20 feet below the water. The Locktopus tells you to choose a key and dive below to open the Octobox. When the box is unlocked, it rises out of the water and opens like a flower to reveal a dining area with a bell jar on a counter. Inside of the bell jar is an octopus salad with chopped onion, garlic, parsley, salt & pepper, coriander, lemon, olive oil, and served with a side of sweet potatoes.
The Locktopus says, “It’s the time of judgment. Eat me or be eaten.”
If you allow The Locktopus to eat you, present yourself on the counter and allow the Locktopus to devour you. You are reborn: go up one level and now you glow, have a halo and are a cleric of Godtopus. For you, it was ten lifetimes in the octo-realm. For those watching, you’re gone for one minute.
If you eat the octopus salad, you are judged. Each key used to open The Octobox has a different effect:
